Why: our participation to AccCellBaT

AVL’s activities in R&D projects such as AccCellBaT are one of the main drivers for innovation. The focus on the methodology of battery verification and validation is seen as one key enabler to ensure a quicker time to market in the field of battery cell and system development. The cooperation with this consortium enables AVL to work on the latest development methodologies to strengthen both product (simulation and data management) as well as services.

What: our objectives in AccCellBaT

AVL plans uses the results with specific focus on modelling to (a) enable the further development of simulation and data management tool products and consulting services, and (b) to utilize the hybrid DVP as well as the data management methodology as back-bone for all battery system development projects. Novel hybrid DVP methodology is utilized by AVL for accelerating testing activities that accompany battery development in the automotive field and beyond (in particular but not limited to storage applications).

Statement

Short time to market with fully validated technologies is key for future success in battery innovation – testing is the key enabler.
